Things You Should NEVER Say To Your Kids

There are so many things you should never say to your kids. Most of the time, however, people say things and they don't even realize they said it until their kids repeat what they just heard. You know what I mean...

"Oh sh*t did I leave the stove on?" And, "F*ck I keep stubbing my toe" come to mind. Let's be honest though, those are reactionary in nature and ultimately teach us to be careful what to say in front of our kids the next time something like that happens. However, there are plenty of parents who say things to their kids and don't realize that what they are saying is inappropriate because they just aren't educated enough to know it.

Thankfully, I have taken it upon myself to educated the populous and complied a list of things you should never say to your kids and put it to video.

So, keeping in line with my promise of continuing to make regular videos as I did in year's past, here is my first one with my kids and me appropriately titled "Things You Should NEVER Say To Your Kids."

My goal? 1 million views. Could this be the one?
Until Tomorrow,

Jai

I agree, there are some things you should never say to your kids..
When young they are like tape recorders and WILL repete things in public that can make ya want to hide somewhere!

Doug thanks for always following. A lot of great things have happened since I started doing this years ago and I know you have been there from the start. Thanks.

Gosh those kids are going to be heart breakers! lol.

You are right though, we need to watch what we say and when we say it. Kids hear everything.

Jai, I love the video and I really wish to see it getting 1 mil views (you are a friend after all and I would like you to retire when you are 65 though it may be before me, you *****). As to the things we should say or not to our kids, I have told you about TMP first rule of raising children: whatever you do they are likely to end up in therapy so you should make sure you enjoy it. :)

Maria you are so right. I called therapy my 2nd home. I sometimes just go to therapy because I miss home.

Funny video Jai. Keep making those videos and they're bound to pay off. Not everyone has the creativity and personality to use sites like youtube to their advantage. Good luck hitting 1 million views.

Beautiful video! I really enjoyed it, and the kids were such an added delight.

In any case, parents need to be careful about what they say in front of their kids. They're in the early stages of their language development, and learn by repeating what they hear others say. They can't distinguish between what is or isn't appropriate.

Oh yeah I agree. My son knows so much more than I ever imagined.

Hilarious Jai! On a more serious note, children are watching and listening when you least expect it. Your children are adorable by the way.

Hahaha Jai, that is a very funny video. Great work!

Also, I borrowed my friend's camera this week. It is a Canon Rebel T1i and it really sparked my interest in photography. I just thought I'd share that with ya!

Take care!

Kids emulate there parents, they do not know what is right or wrong. Every kid admire his parents as his hero. He considers them perfect. So I guess parents have a huge responsibility on there shoulders.

on a different note, Pls add a subscribe RSS form to your site so that we do not miss any of your posts

Had fun watching it Jai. And children have extraordinary grasping power you'll never know when they would learn all those nasty things before you utter even the first letter.

Oh I so know that. I told my 2.5 year old son where my wife and I went on our first date and today when we were passing by the place he asked me if it was what he was pointing at. I almost died.

Too funny! I love the kids covering their ears at the end.
Reminds me of my son and his ex-- 50/50 custody and they argue every time they transfer the kids. Our oldest granddaughter sits in the car and smiles and waves at her dad while her mom yells about whatever it is she's mad about that week... but yeah, they hear way too much negative stuff.

Did they sign the Video Release Form?

Isn't the whole point of having kids to embarass them when they are younger?

I thought that was because they sure get their own back later on!

And it's free fun for you.

You'll find out one day when yours are older and a little less cute.

Actually of course kids are such fun so perhaps that is a bit cruel.

Don't get me wrong - I love my 3 lads to bits.:-)

I don't have kids yet but if I did I'd probably have to work on censoring a lot of things. One of my grad school profs said he use to go to the playground with his kids just to get reactions from other parents. So when one child would come up to him asking why he wouldn't push him on the swings, but would push the other child he'd respond, "Because I love your brother more than you". He said it was great fun. Therapists are sick ;-)
