However, I am super proud to announce that Sound Advice Episode 1 will begin airing at a world wide web near you on August 1st, 2012. This project is extremely funny with a whole lot of rude, obnoxious, judgmental, indignant, intolerable GENIUS. Please check out the website and trailer below. Until Tomorrow, Jai Click Sound Advice to check out the website. In case you need a little reminder, PX This is the series that I booked a few weeks ago. It's a show based on the book PX This - Diary of the "Maitre d' to the Stars" by the talented Abbe Diaz. Late last night or should I say very early this morning (1 am) we started shooting one of my juice fun scenes at a posh restaurant in NYC. Shhhh... I think I have said too much. I really wish I could tell you all about the drama, humor, betrayal, deceit and scandal that is going on behind the hot and sexy kitchen... but I can't. However, I will tell you that my character is fun fun fun fun fun and JUICY with a capital J. Shhhh... Ok now I really think I have said too much but that is what happens when you get home at 6 am from an all night shoot after being up all day with 2 kids. :) Ok 1 last thing but that is it. I spoke to Abbe in between takes and she told me we are on point for a September 1st completion of PX This which very possible will coincide with her new book. Shhh... Ok now I have spilled way too many of the "baked beans." :) Until tomorrow, Jai Check out the PX This trailer below.
Today I am proud to showcase Suzy who I have worked with several times now. She has become a good friend and oh I almost forgot... she is an amazing professional fitness trainer. How do I know? Well, aside from the fact she is in great shape. Suzy has been in the business for a very successfully long time.
Below are a few of the shots that we both fell in love with along with the feature image that is a doll type before and after photoshop transformation. I would love to hear what you think. Enjoy. Until Tomorrow, Jai
Now that we got that clear let me give you a little backstory. I bought my house in 2003 when the housing market was going up rapidly but not out of control. Back then Newark had a tax abatement for first time buyers and being that I had a thriving business teaching people how to dance salsa in the same city I thought why not go for it. The plan was simple... Buy a newly constructed house for a good price with a 5 year tax abatement in an up and coming area. But then 1 day I woke up and it was 2008. My business was disolved, the housing market had crashed and my great tax abatement was over. My taxes nearly doubled overnight from 5 k a year. For 4 years I have seen my taxes go through the roof and haven't done anything about it because I have been lazy, forgetful and busy getting married and having 2 kids. However, last year I said enough is enough. In early 2012 I filled papers for a tax appeal to show them that I am being taxed on a much higher scale being that home prices have crashed down significantly. Well I am happy to say that tomorrow I am going in at 9 am to prove my case. I am bringing 3 things that will be greatly needed to help me finally lower my property taxes. 1. A list of 5 undervalued houses sold in and around my neighborhood. 2. The current assessed value of my house. And finally... 3. Torn dirty clothes for sympathy. Wish me luck. To a large degree it can be a ton of fun (no pun intended) to photograph fitness professionals because their energy is so lively. I tend to be a ball of energy myself so it's tough for me to label this kind of stuff work. Catching up with Corinne and photographing her went like this... talk shoot talk shoot talk shoot... You get the picture. Again no pun intended. :)
Anyway, here are some of the final shots that we both decided to go with for her newly revamped site. Oh and don't think Corinne is all beauty and muscle. Nope! In addition to her thriving fitness business, she is also a hair and makeup professional specializing in wedding services. That is right! A woman with multiple talents and now great photos. :) To check out Corinne Tate's fitness website or hair and make up site please click on the links below. www.ctbeauty.net www.bfit4lifenyc.com
Do you remember that yearly competition that started in 2007 about the tasty orange crunchy triangle snack called Doritos? That's the one where thousands and thousands of people from all over the world put together a 30 second video in the hopes that they win a cool million dollars. Last year I was one of those hopefuls who entered because my chances of becoming a millionaire were a hell of a lot better than playing lotto. Well I didn't win BUT (and this is a big BUT) my video did go super viral bringing in nearly 500 thousand hits and close to 5 figures of adsense revenue. Not bad for entering the contest last minute. So from the results and odds above you can only imagine how much I have thought about doing this contest again. In fact, I have thought about it so much that I researched and found out from Video Contest News that Doritos won't announce the contest (if there even is one) until late September. Bummer! HOWEVER... The good news is that the contest was so successful that "one fan-made Doritos commercial (Man’s Best Friend) was ranked the best commercial of the year on USA Today’s ad meter and another CTSB ad (Sling Baby) was ranked the best spot of the game..." Let's face it! Doritos would be crazy to walk away from all that publicity. So, with news like that I think it is safe to say that there will be some sort of contest this year. In fact I am so confident that I will continue to think (because thinking is free) until they announce one or not. The only real question is, before I break out my camera and put my kids to work, how and when will they present the Doritos Crash The Super Bowl 2013 contest? Want to see last years 5 finalist? Check out the videos below. Until Tomorrow, Jai
When I booked the commentator role for the World Salsa Championships on ESPN I knew I wanted to have a life in front of the camera. I was still teaching people all over the world how to dance salsa but It was clear I had the TV buzz. So, I went with my heart and I interviewed with Maggie Flanigan to train in her 2 year acting conservatory. During that time I auditioned constantly. I booked independent films, original plays and a 12 part web series. I had a manager, business cards, headshots and a website with a pretty decent reel. But then life took over. Or shall I say my wife to be? The year was 2007 and I fell in love with the most beautiful woman in the world. Within 3 years we got married and had 2 wonderful kids but my pursuit of acting stopped cold. My wife had a pretty good job and I was still training as a photographer/videographer so I became the stay at home dad for both of my kids. It was fun and I cherish all the moment but in order to keep my acting impulses in check I had to start filming and producing my own productions. I wrote scripts, hired actors, filmed scenes and became a Youtube partner in the hopes of making some extra money on the side. I even put my kids in several pieces (Things you should never say to your kids). You see it was really easy. I never had to audition, I always hired myself and I never had to worry if the project was going to fall through because I was the one steering the wheel. I was happy and had the best of both worlds because I was doing what I loved by being an actor as well as being the best dad and husband I could be. Then one day last week the phone rings and my good friend Adam tells me there is a good audition for a webseries that I would be perfect for. A great piece for any actor and the 2 people who are producing the series are friends of mine from my acting conservatory. I even photographed both of their headshots years ago. It sounded like a good idea all in all but I have a family, a blog, a headshot business, a logo designing business and several other things going on so I kindly got off the phone and went about my day. NYC is a huge place. I sometimes do not see my next door neighbor for months. However, as I was walking down the street in my hood, I ran into my friend Brianna who is producing the same webseries that Adam called me about. She stopped me and after some small talk said, "I am so happy I ran into you. There is a part you would be perfect for in a new series I am producing called PX This". I didn't know what to say to her because I was thrown off guard. I replied by saying, "send me the info and I will see if I can swing it". Now I am not going to lie. I was happy that someone was pursuing me even if fate brought the pursuit together. I mean let's be real, In every business in the world it's who you know and I felt that after Adam called me about the project as well as bumping into Brianna on the street... I had to go in for the audition. So, I dusted off my headshot, cleaned up my resume and went in for my first audition in years. Was I nervous? You bet but I did it anyway. Well... That's my story. I hope you liked it. Oh and in case you are wondering. Yes I booked the part. Check out the amazing trailer below. :) Until Tomorrow, Jai If you are interested in watching some of the pieces I have done in the last few years please click below.

Watching my wife push a watermelon through her nostrils 2 times was tough on my body. Thank God I am a man and the only thing that I can claim went through me during my wife's 2 pregnancies is loads of ice cream. That too takes a toll on the body and after nearly 3 years of feeling all flabby I decided to do something about it. When I finally convinced myself that I was going to do the Insanity before and after transformation I decided to use my seo knowledge and make some money during the journey. I opened up my trusty Market Samurai and went keyword searching. Through my analysis I found the term Insanity before and after to be a phase that was nicely searched (206 searches a day) with fairly beatable competition (54K people using the term). Once I was hooked on the phrase I decided to post a daily blog (Insanity before and after from flab daddy to fab daddy) with a photo about my journey during the entire 63 day workout to eventually rank on page 1. Everyday I blogged about my experience and slowly but surely I crept up the charts until I reached my goal. That isn't all. After I posted my 46 second before and after video I went back to each and every post that I had written and added an update with the video link attached. That video finally made it to page 1 as well. That means that if you do a google keyword search for Insanity before and after I appear as a blog post on page 1 along with 9 others that have reached the elite spot. In addition, if you youtube that same phrase I appear on page 1 as well. So let's do some math.
The program costs $139.00... From the affiliate links I have earned $44. From google adsense I have earned $101.23. Total $139.00 - $145.23 = + $6.23 Ok so I am not rich from doing Insanity but not only did it pay for itself, I made an extra $6.23 as of today... In addition, I saved 3 months of gym membership, regained my youthful physique and convinced my wife to begin Insanity. She is on day 8. Until Tomorrow, Jai |
